PANTOhealth Achieves EN 50318 Certification for AC Simple Systems, A Standard in Pantograph-Catenary Simulation Accuracy

We are proud to announce that PANTOhealth has successfully achieved EN 50318 certification for its AC simple system simulation engine, officially validating the accuracy and reliability of our pantograph–overhead contact line (OCL) interaction simulation.

The EN 50318 standard is the cornerstone of validation for simulation methods in pantograph–overhead contact line (OCL) interaction. It ensures that results are accurate, credible, and interoperable for regulatory and engineering purposes. This certification confirms that our simulation method meets these stringent criteria and is now verified and certified for professional and regulatory use.

Our journey to certification involved three critical steps:

  • Developing a simulation engine based on a continuous analytical model—avoiding the limitations of mesh-based finite element methods (FEM).
  • Validating the system using rigorous tests against reference cases and line measurements defined in EN 50318.
  • Undergoing third-party assessment by Enotrac, a leading Notified Body (NoBo) in railway safety and simulation.

This certification strengthens our position as a trusted technology provider in railway infrastructure. It confirms that our solutions are interoperable, standards-compliant, and ready to support rail operators, infrastructure designers, and manufacturers across Europe and beyond.

For engineers, regulators, and operators seeking validated tools for high-speed rail design and pantograph-OCL interaction analysis, PANTOhealth’s certified simulation engine now offers a proven, efficient, and scalable solution.
